Tomorrow is tuesday, however it is different from other tuesdays because its my husbands birthday. He is turning 24.

im a blessed girl
I got a job! I'm nannying a little girl who is 2 months younger then Owen. It is a tremendous blessing, and I'm trying very hard not to complain about it. Its a little rough right now as she is still getting used to me and owen and the new enviornement. She's pretty whiny and clingy-and tests my patience very often! :). I don't really know how her and owen are liking each other yet. She seems to hit him and take his toys a lot, and he's not very warm to her (which frankly I wouldn't be either if u were hitting me) ha!
That said, I'm so thamkful for this job. It allows me to stay at home with my son and to make some extra cash! I was looking and planning on finding outside care for owen a couple days a week, thinking itd be good for me to get out of the house, working with adults, and making money. However-when it came down to it- I couldn't do it. Not now anyway. I've been at home with him since he's been born..to put him in someone elses hands overwhelms me! I do stiLl think I dneed more adult interaction during the week- and I do believe getting out without owen once and a while is good for me.
That said, the Lord is just really taking care of us and providing for us in a lot of small ways. Ways that don't seem super big or obvious to people around us. Mark and I are currently more content then we have been in our entire marriage. Being closer to friends and amoungst our family again is good for our souls.

730 days!
Today is mark and I's two year anniversary. I am so grateful and blessed to have him in my life each and everyday. I don't know if you all know the story of me in 3rd grade. But here it is:
When I was in 3rd grade- my family started going to a new church (gmc) and of course I was nervous. One sunday I was walking around the hallways before sunday school and I walked by marked, and he said "hey-i like your sweater!". Well, that compliment showed me I was in love. Haha. I went home that day and said to my mom "I'm going to marry mark burkey" I'm sure she just smiled at me..but I don't think either she or I knew that I was right! :o)
So today mark and I bothj have to work--but we are having a special dinner and dessert tonight (italian and brownie fudge cheesecake! Plus champange!) And then this wednesday we are headed off to chicago for a 24 hour mini vacation. Mini or not, we are really excited and can't wait!
This will be the longest we've ever been without owen..so I'm a little nervous. Its 27 hours to be exact..and he'll sleep 16 hours of those 27 including bed time and naps..so I just have to remind myself of that. And I will try not to drive mark crazy by constantly calling our sitters and saying things like "oh I wonder how owen is doing..its his lunch time." Ha...

Here's our life lately
1. Owen is a walker. Yup. He walks more then he crawls
2. I got a job- I started today-and it went really well. I'm nannying a girl named lilee who is 2 months younger then owen. As much as I dreamt of possible leavng the house for a part time job-i just can't do it-i can't put owen in another persons care. Sissy I guess.
3.Owen bit a giant gash in his tounge-that goodness its healing
4. Mark and I are going on a mimi-vaca this coming week for our 2 year anniversary. Heading to chicago-im stoked

6. We are going to gcc, and calling it our "church" for now!
7. Its friday-and that means piiizzaaa! :)

10.Owen is 100 percent bottle free..and has been for a couple weeks now..however-i cannt say the same for the paci. :(

cuddly
I'm sure you are annoyed with blogs from moms who constantly talk only about their child and how great they are-but I must say-i am that mom. :)
Owen turns 13 months old this month. He is doing something recently that I am thoroughly enjoying snuggling! He has really become snuggly and wanting to be held. While I'm trying not to constantly give into that for fear of him becoming an overly clingy child-i sure am appreciating those snuggles that I get mid day.
Toddler-hood is proving to be harder then I anticipated. It leaves me utterly exhausted at the end of each day-and I can't make it through a day without morning, mid morning, afternoon, and evening coffee.
I'm not sure if I can say he's offically walking-however, he is walking. Its just not always a steady consistent walk..but there are other days that it is..either way-this boys life is going much faster then I'd prefer.

3 Really Exciting Things
So this weekend has felt like christmas. You know..like the excitement and all and here's why:
1.) Saturday evening we went to visit a brand new baby in the hospital. This made me realize a few things
A. I love crystal, brandon, and kyle josiah. I held that little dude and seriously fell in love! And he's not even mine!
B. I want another baby. I swear since we left the hospital I can't stop thinking about all things newborn. I feel like I have baby blues from seeing him! Yes..babies are a lot of work..but man! Babies are blessings.
C. I'd love to be a nurse that works with babies.
And u should see that kid! He's beautiful! I took a bunch of pictures which I will post later
2.) We got new phones!! That's right.. We are no longer "in" we have switched to sprint. We both got blackberry curves and have internet all the time! Its amazing! I've been feeling so out of touch not having internet..so I'm really happy! We got an AWESOME deal! Buy one get one blackberrys and a plan with 1500 shared minutes, unlimited texts to any carrier, unlimited mobile to mobile with any carrier..so all cell calls are free. Nights and weekends start at 7pm. We can also tether our phones to a pc and use it for our main internet. Its 129.99 monthly normally..but we get a discount bc of marks company! So excited!
3.) We got a couch! We got it in our house and set up today! We love it! I can't wait to let u all try it out! Ita fabulous!

In other News...
1. we are planting an organic garden, and are starting this week! We are going to try to sell produce! We are excited!
2. I got a free 2 month membership to the womens' gym CURVES. My mom is watching owen so i can go work out, and i've only gone once-but i loved it!
3. I've started cutting hair a little bit. i've cut my own, owen's and marks and i'm learning a lot about it and enjoying it
4. Still looking for a very, very part time job.
5. Starting sewing a little bit, and really enjoying that too!
6. we will be getting furniture within the next coupel weeks..this is the FIRST time we've ever gotten new furnitire, and i'm super excited.
7. Hoepfully we will be replacing our stolen computer in the next couple weeks as well.
8. We are still church "shopping" and went to GCC last week and realllly loved that!
9. I love my husband and my son!
