9 months old

Owen is 9 months old today.
Here is a list of the most recent accomplishments:

*Crawling!  (Army Crawling that is) he's been doing this for a week and a half now.  It's so cute.
*a 3rd tooth (Top one this time)  I can tell it's just killing him, poor baby.  He just grinds his teeth.  Poor kid.
* no?? Owen shakes his head "no"  However, i'm positive that he has no idea that it looks like he's saying "NO" especially since we don't even use the word No with him. But it's super cute.
* Has added the word "Mama" and "baba" to his vocab.
*Gained 2 lbs!
* Grew 1 In.

In other News,
We are leaving tomorrow to go to Ohio for a wedding mark is in.  We will be there alllll weekend.
Mark & I are frantically getting ready for Christmas.  We are having our own family christmas on Saturday, and no, i haven't even shopped yet.  I'm falling VERY behind this year, and was much better about this the years before.  Does having kids ALWAYS affect your ability to do things BEFORE the last minute??  I may be a procrastinator for life. hmph. :o/

Lots Of Updates.

Life has been very busy lately.  Mark & I just got back to Nashville from a nice thanksgiving trip back home.  We were there wednesday night thru Sunday morning.  It was really refreshing to see the faces of a lot of people we have been missing immensely.
Here are a few pictures of our trip:

This is Owen at Grammy & Pappy's house.

A shot of Owen's thanksgiving outfit.  The bottom of the feet say "Little Turkey":

I absolutely adore this next picture.

Heres a family picture from The Davis side:

In other news, Owen is almost 9 months old!! He has finally starting saying "ma ma"  He also has begun making "l" and "b" noises with his tounge, but no real words yet, and nope, he's still not crawling..but so stinkin close.

We love you all.  Now we are getting ready for another big trip during Christmas! :)

Good-bye Baby Fever

This week has been a busy/interesting/stressful one!

Lately; i've been having the "baby-itch."  Here are the reasons:
1. I love my son.  He is so awesome; and he makes me want to have another dude or dudette like him.
2. I miss having a baby kicking me. :) I know this sounds crazy..but if you've been preggers before, you know EXACTLY what i'm talking about.
3. I just love having a family.
4. TWO mom's that were pregnant with their 1st and the same time i was pregnant with Owen, are NOW pregnant with their SECOND babies.  This makes me feel like, "it's time, everyone's doing it!"

Well....After this week, i can OFFICALLY say that my baby-itch has come to a close for now.

This week i've been watching Ivy, a little 6 month old girl, for 2 nights overnight for a friend of mine.  She is no trouble at all.  In fact, she is so sweet and i love her, and she sometimes puts owen to shame ;)  BUT..having TWO babies, despite how well behaved they are is MORE work then i had imagined.  ESPECAILLY in the mornings...getting them fed, dressed, and packing up diaper bags and loading them both in the car only to take them to my work to watch YET ANOTHER baby, has been slightly hectic.

So, in closing, I will just say that i am GLAD that i have watched Ivy this week, because my itching has stopped!

ha!

love you all. can't wait for THANKSGIVING! :)

Two Teeth & Getting Big.

I haven't been as excited about updating my blog lately bc of our lack of pictures.  But i still want to keep family in the loop!  So hopefully, you enjoy it even though it doesn't have pictures!

Here's the latest Owen Scoop:

He got his 2nd tooth a couple days ago.  Teething is proving to be rough.  Good thing he is a trooper.  he is still saying "da-da" and "hi" but that's it.  still not crawling..but SOOO close i can feel it!!!  He sure does get around despite not crawling yet.  This morning I had to pull him out from under our futon several times. :)
He is offically 8 months olds, weighs 19 pounds, and is 30 inches long.  Yes..he is tall!

Dealing with a runny nose, cough, and slight fever this afternoon.  Not sure why but he sure seems to get sick often.  So you can find me in my kitchen, washing and santizing all things "baby."

Here's the Latest Mark & Lauren Scoop:

We are doing well.  Working alot.  Mark is going to be leading worship (playing bass) at a youth retreat this weekend, so we are looking forward to that.
Weather here has been absolutely awesome, and as much as we are soaking that up, we are feeling really homesick lately.  we can't wait to spend time with our families for a decent chunk of time.

That's all i've got!

Love,
Mark, Lauren & Owen

A Picture speaks a thousand words...BUT, we don't have any of those.

I think my blogs will probably be all Words lately and not pictures. So sorry.  We have no way of uploading pictures currently (long story.)

BUT, here are some of our current happenings:

1.) We bought a new car.  It's a 1992 Honda Accord.  It's old, but it's in great condition, looks nice, runs nice and has a lot of life left to it.  Best news of all, you can open it from the inside...you don't have to roll the windows down to open it from the outside. :)

2.) Owen Turns EIGHT months old in 4 days.  Wow. this leaves me speechless. The kid is growing non-stop.

3.) We are frantically preparing for our upcoming numerous trips.  If you think about it--pray for our safety.  We have a trip next weekend, thanksgiving weekend, and of course, christmas too.

that's all I can really think of.
Enjoy your weekend!

love.

I steal Pictures.

(So, many of you know (if you've been reading my posts) that our camera is out-of-order.  The following pictures are STOLEN from other's blogs/facebooks/whatever!)

Life has been pretty busy lately.  It's kind of been a blur of new work hours, babies, driving "home", planning for holidays, not getting houses, church, fall, and more.  The next few months will prove to be busier i'm sure.  Meanwhile, here are pictures of the current happenings in our lives.

10 Recent Things about our family

1. Owen has graduated to a size 3 diaper
2. We went to a "family fall fest" and Got Owen's face painted & lots of pictures with pumpkins...of course.
3. Mark's hours have yet again changed, & he'll begin getting home at a decent hour..but still work indecently long days.
4. We are falling more & more in love with the church we go to (Please do not confuse this with our love for Jesus) :)
5. owen is VERY mobile. No crawling yet, but he manages to get everywhere just the same.
6. Before I was pregnant, I thought baby clothes were so inexpensive...& boy, have I learned a lot.
7. We just purchased Owen's first little winter onsemble (jacket, hat & gloves.) He is so cute.
8. We've been getting date nights about once a month thanks to our wonderful friends. Once a month is hardly enough, but it's better then NONE, which is what we WERE getting at the start.
9. The reason pictures weren't being posted at first was because we cancelled our internet. The new reason--Mark broke the camera charger...(not a cheap thing to replace)
10. We are COUNTING down til thanksgiving & christmas. We are so ready & anxious to see our families.

Show me your pearly white.

Last Night was terrible.  Owen ALWAYS sleeps through the night, but not last night.  He woke us up crying and crying & crying.  I'm freaking out thinking that something is TERRIBLY wrong because my son
1.) NEVER cries, and NEVER EVER like this.
2.) He always sleeps through the night.

Well, eventually we DID get him to go to sleep, only to be awoken very early this morning to find something:

a TOOTH!!!
no kidding! (the very tiny top peak of a tooth.)

and...i cried. (of course.)  Once again realizing for the 208503274293729 time that Owen is growing up much to fast & there is NOTHING i can do to slow him down.

So that explains his terrible night & Mark & I are very excited for him! :) Now only a BUNCH more teeth & sleepless teething nights to go!

So, needless to say, I'm very Tired today.

Owen is now 7 months old.  He is 29 inches long!!! I know! he is tall.  And he weighs 17 pounds. That puts him in the 95th percentile for height and the 20th percentile for weight.

i guess that's it for now. Sorry for the lack of pictures lately.

Just so you know.

Whelp, Mark & I cancelled our internet. It isn't a permanent thing, but for now, there will probably be a lack of posts, so for those of you who wondered where we went, that's where! :)

However, I do get internet at my work, so i'll do my best to update then and there.

Love and miss you all like crazy.

p.s. Owen is 7 months old this week. AH!

Monkey See, Monkey Do.

Lately Owen has been doing the funniest thing.  He tries to do whatever we are doing.  If we are laughing, sure enough, we hear this little belly laugh coming from Owen.  If we are eating, Owen is trying to grab the food OFF of our plates and into his!  If we are reading, he will grab our book and look at it intently as if he is reading too.. it is so cute! The other night mark was on the computer...and, monkey see, monkey do, SO was Owen..

he is too funny.
anyway-more updates later.

I love my little family. <3

Update on the house situation

Quick Update from my last post, the house we put an offer in for didnt' go through.  Some one actually offered a price HIGHER then the listing price! isn't that crazy?!?! They must have really wanted it!  All that to say that we are glad about this! We were praying that if it was what God wanted then it'd go through and if it wasn't then it wouldn't and it didn't! So, no biggie!

AND with that, we put another offer in on a different house this evening.  I think our hearts are pretty attached to this one.  It's cute and really simplistic little country-home feeling. :)  I'll let ya know! We should know by tomorrow at 6pm!!!

[I CANT BELIEVE I AM GONNA HAVE A HOUSE!]

Here's What's Been Up

27 weeks

27 weeks

Owen turned 6 months old on September 10th.  He is getting sooo big.  It's crazy. I'm saying goodbye to the days of being able to just simply lay him on the floor.  he is rolling ALLLL over the place.  He see's something that he wants on the other side of the room, and he rolls to it!  Also every time Mark or I eats, he whines and wants to eat too.  He's obviously learned that whining gets him picked up and held, so now he does it a little too much, and Mark and I are getting lots of practice in on the "ignoring" part of parenthood! Too smart for his own good!

We are having so much fun with him! :)

I guess our biggest news would be that we have been approved for a house.  We are so excited and thankful for this.  The Lord is really blessing us and guiding us.  With that, we've actually put an offer in on a house recently.  We are not getting our hopes up too high, just in case some one else's bid goes through first.  It seems as if a few people have bid on the house, so we'll have an answer soon.  Until then, we'll keep looking! :)

we love you all and really miss our families.

25 weeks old & Visitors!

It's been a little while since i've written! We've had quite a full plate!
I started my new nannying job last week.  It is a little trying so far.  It's hard to get used to a new baby with a COMPLETELY different personality.  BUT, i'm very thankful for it and it is helpful for Mark and I! :)

Owen turned 25 weeks this past Tuesday (September 1st).  These pictures make him seem so grown up.  When i look at them I feel like he looks like a little man.  It's really crazy to me.  Mark and I are realizing that in 6 more months, Owen will be one year old, and it's been a little hard to deal with that! Not because we don't want our kid to grow and excel, but because we don't know where the time went.  We watched home videos of when he was 30 minutes old the other night, and both sat and cried. Sappy parents..I know.
I will be baby-proofing soon! This little doober is gonna be getting around shortly!

I know this next picture is extremely blurry; but the face Owen is making is just so funny.  It's his "grandpa" face.

also, Tim& Kim came and spent some time with us this past week/weekend. It was so great; and really didn't seem like it was enough time at all.  It actually felt like they lived here, and Mark and I both felt like when they left it was like they were moving! So strange.  Anyways, our time was beautiful!  We went to the walking bridge, down town Franklin, church, and had a cook-out! We also did a lot of driving around to check out certain areas. So nice to Relax!! This was the First Saturday that Mark has had off work in a while, and had off Labor Day, meaning he got a full 3 days off!!! SUCH a blessing.  Anyway; here are some pictures of our visit! :)

Our beautiful city at night!

Welcome To Log Cabin Road

So, a few of you have asked me to post pictures of our new apartment, so here it is in all it's little 750 sq. ft glory! :)  Sorry the pictures aren't the best quality...a few of them were taken on cell phones, so you can imagine how grand of pictures those things take!!

Despite the very small quarters; Mark and I are REALLY loving this apartment.  We have the best neighbors that we have EVER had and could've asked for.  If you want to know more; ask me, and i'll tell you why they are so awesome.

Here goes:

This is the view of our bedroom, looking in from the door.

Owen's Changing Table, which also doubles as our dresser is in our room. This is another shot of the room:

above picture is blurry!! sorry about that.  The above picture is also our living room looking in from the front door.
Below is looking into the living room from the hallway. (you can see the front door) and Owen's little corner.
Bathroom photos:
And Kitchen Photos WHICH also doubles as a laundry room.
and yes; my laundry is currently piling up as you can see in the photo.  The washer is SO small, that it fits like 7 items into it...so i have to do like 3 loads a day and i'm still not caught up!

We haven't ever had to live this simplistic or cramped before. Some of you may even be thinking, "oh my goodness! how are they doing that?" WELL, we are loving it.  We are building such memories, and doing this for a really awesome purpose.

No complaints here!

lots of love coming from log.cabin.road
