Owen is On Food Strike!

So the past week has been a trying week around our little household. Sometime last week Owen came down with a fever, accompined with a runny nose and cough, although not congested. He wasn't sleeping, or eating, and was continuosly fussy!! He had to be rocked to sleep in his swing a couple nights (which he never does), and contstantly wanted to be held (again, never does) We had called our doctor, and she kept reassuring us that everything was normal, even when his fever kept getting higher and higher.
Within the next couple days, sure enough, his fever had dramatically decreased, but he wasn't really eating OR sleeping through the night, which he has been for months now!! It's so hard to adjust from your baby FINALLY sleeping through the night to waking up twice a night again. His body weight requires about 25-30 ounces of milk a day, and he was eating around 14. Needless to say; all these things combined plus very unusual un-happy behavior has caused discomfort and worry in this house!

The culprit:
Teeth.

Owen's gums are SO swollen and he is chowing down HARD on everything. He is happy when he has tylenol and ora gel. The doctor says that when teeth are trying to come in; it causes milk to taste different, in which most often times a baby will go on FOOD STRIKE. We are a little relived to know what's going on, and would still love and appreciate prayers for our little doober.

:)

Love you all.

Owen is also 5 months old today. He is getting so big. I remember finding out i was pregnant with him..whew, what a week that was!!! This was the song that i would listen to over and over to comfort me (Even tho my baby Wasn't a girl, it was still such a comfort) I listened to it today, and it brought tears to my eyes. Where is the time going??

"She's got a baby inside,
and holds her belly tight
All through the night, just so she knows she's sleeping so safely to keep her growing.
Oh and when she'll open her eyes, they'll be no suprise, that she'll grow to be, so beautifully, just like her mother, that's carrying.
There is an angel growing peacefully, sweet baby.
And things will be hard at times, But i've learned to try just listening, Patiently."
