Snow Day

One thing we are NOT lacking in this week is SNOW!!!  And I'm loving it.  I've decided to stop complaining about it, and start thinking positive, and being thankful that I have a warm house to escape it!! ....And it's awesome.  I'm loving it!

Owen and I played out in the snow today.  This is the 1st time he's really been able to play in lots of snow  (snow in nashville is NEVER enough to play in!)

At first...he wasn't quite sure:

But pretty soon, he got used to it.  He had to taste test it first!

but then all was well, and he started playing hard!

Then he saw the mass amounts of snow on the deck and said "Clearly, I need to shovel this for my mom"

okay, not really....

...but he did try!

We had so much fun!! And we're hoping that next time, daddy will be home to play with us too! And we'll have a big snow ball fight!!!

One of my FAVORITE things about Christmas.

There are lots of things that are awesome about Christmas.  What's not to love?

However, one of my all time favorite things ever is plugging in my Christmas tree lights when it's still dark outside, drinking a big cup of coffee and sitting in the dark room except for the beautiful christmas tree lighting it up.  It really reminds me of my childhood for some reason.

Just thought i'd share!  My heart keeps getting more and more excited for Christmas time!

Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving.  The feeling of lots of family and lots of people being thankful  (followed by lots of people being crazy greedy and buying lots of things....ha)  is awesome to me....well, the thankful part. ;)

We had a great thanksgiving!  :)   We went over to my parents house in the afternoon and ate TONS (of course) and played games.

early evening, owen started feeling really warm.   We kept taking his temp and it kept getting warmer!  The night ended with a trip to walmart for tylenol, and a very fussy and tuckered out little guy!  He even fell ASLEEP on his pappy...which, if you know owen, you know he NEVER falls asleep unless he's in HIS OWN bed!

I left him overnight at my parents and lindsay and I went out at 3 am and did some black friday shopping!  It was most successful I might add!

Unfortunately, the next 2 days after thanksgiving have us all in our pj's, calling off work, and SICK. :(  no fun.  I feel like we can never  catch a break with being sick!

Bye Bye Baby

Is it terrible that I can hardly remember him being this little?

He has changed so much.  Such a BIG boy now.

(just a sulky mama post about how crazy it is that he's growing so fast.  way TOO fast i might add.)

I just realized that I don't think i updated on our car situation!!  You'll remember when my car burst into flames and we found a new one correct?? Well, about a month ago, Mark's car died and we had to search for yet ANOTHER car.  Thankfully, we found one, and we are very happy with it!  I can't believe i haven't updated about that.

-Owen's vocab is increasing tons!!  We've started a "list" of what he can say!  The list includes:

*Hot
*Car
*Go
*All Done
*Dog
*Down
*please (sounds more like peas)
*Riley  (sounds more like Hiley)

we're getting there!


-We're going to "veggie tales live"  in a few weeks, and were super excited for that! More excited to watch how Owen reacts!! :)  Veggie tales are his favorite (now if he would only eat his veggies!)

I am so thankful for my son.

Owen has changed our lives in a billion ways, all for the good.  We didn't ask for our lives to be thrown upside down, but they were, and we are extremely thankful, and much different, and better people because of him.  He really gave our lives direction, and makes life much more fun, and exciting!  More stressful? YES.  But so worth it.

Owen is such a good boy, a good son, and a good friend.  I am so in love with my little man, and I thought i'd tell you all.

October 31st FUN!

We went to see a few friends  (from whom i stole MOST of these pics!..thanks crystal and sandy)

then we headed off to the mall with our pal Riley.  ( I have lots more pictures to upload of both Riley & Owen at the mall getting sweets AND our nashville vacation...they'll be coming SOON!!!!)

After all the excitement, we went out to eat at Old Country Buffet with family to celebrate Erin's (Owen's grandma and my mother in law) birthday, and their anniversary!!  It was a great night!
