More Appointments and Christmas!!

Hey Guys--
Again, don't have any pictures for this post...i know those are usually the boring ones! Sorry. I WILL put pic's up soon! :) Promise!

Mark and i had another appointment yesterday. Got blood drawn for the 2nd time and had a shot. Went well and Owen is a healthy little guy!!

We are coming home this sunday till around Janurary 3rd..so we are really excited. We miss family so much.

Just a really quick update! We love you guys and we'll see you soon! :)

Birthdays, Owen, and Nashville Life

This Saturday was my birthday.  It was really good, and really different at the same time.  It was weird not being with family on this day, as i have been every other year.  It was really cool though because Mark suprised me with some friends from home coming down for a surprise party in Nashville.  That was really great and it felt like a piece of home coming to me.  We spent all weekend hanging out downtown and showing them Nashville! :)  We had a really fun time.

Owen is doing really well.  We had an appointment on Dec. 4th where they evaluated his heart, lungs, brain, kidneys, etc...and as far as we can tell, everything looks healthy and well.  He is moving SOOOO much these days and it's been fun for Mark and I. 

While the doctor was measuring Owen's brain, heart, belly, etc, the computer calculated that his due date would be Feburary 19th!!!! We were shocked at that because the original due date was March 4th.  The doctor said she is going to keep the due date at March 4th...kind of scary, but mark and i have just decided we will be ready by Feburaray 19th! :)

If you think about it, keep  Mark and i in your prayers.  We are having a hard time here.  We absolutely adore Nashville and we love our church.  However, we feel like we are having a bit of a hard time fitting in.  It's hard because we are realizing how much we miss familiar friends.  We don't like south bend, but we know the people there.  We love nashville, but finding real people has been tricky.  Mark has been pretty down the past couple of days because of this, and it's just been a little tricky to keep up a good, happy feeling lately in our home.

On a positive note, we got new neighbors this weekend.  They are an elderly couple and they really love the lord.  They are super sweet and we are happy to have them!!

Mark & I went on a really fun date night saturday night! (Can you tell by this picture that it's NO SHAVE NOVEMBER?!?!) We had so much fun and ate a really nice dinner; then we came home & I made home-made cherry cheesecake bars...yummm!!! Here's a picture:

Baby & Thanksgiving

Hi All.

I haven't really figured out this blog thing yet...but i'm trying.

Mark and I are so excited for thanksgiving! and to come home!!  Being at home is sometimes pretty boring, but i'm spending a lot of time doing lots of cooking and baking and i'm getting to be pretty good at it!!!  I love it, and i feel like a good wife too...hehe.  Mark and i are heading home wendnesday night, and on Tuesday i'm gonna make us our own little thanksgiving (this is our first married thanksgiving!! and our last thanksgiving without being a mommy & Daddy!!! ahh!!)  I'm gonna make a thanksgiving cassarole (with stuffing, turkey, taters & gravy, and green beans!) and a pumkin pie! :)

In baby news, Mark & i's next appointment is December 4th, two days before my birthday!  We are going to have an ultrasound so our doctor can "evaluate" the baby and just make sure everything is forming right, etc.  So that should be exciting.  According to our last appointment, Owen is healthy, and according to me and all the crazy kicks he gives me, he is definately well!! He kicks soooo much! Mark has felt him kick really strong, and i've even seen my belly move!  I hope some family can feel him when we are there...it's like every time i want him to kick so people can feel him, he's sleepin!

First Blog. 24 weeks pregnant

Hi Everyone.

I've been encouraged to get a "blogger" to share news and udates on the pregnancy & life in Nashville.  So i guess i'm going to give this a try!

First of all, we had an awesome baby shower this saturday and got a good amount of thing we will need when Baby Owen comes! (THANK YOU!) I'll include pic's of the shower and our weekend visit at the end of this blog! :)  It was really awesome seeing friends and family..however we didn't really have much time and didn't get to do a lot of things we wanted to like see Ann & Andrews new house or see where Adam is living now...and Mark really wants to spend time with his brothers (and i do too!) I'm really excited for thanksgiving time.  My family will be in FL.  Of course i'd love to see them, & be with them too,  but it's going to be a little easier not having to try to divide time between families right now...we'll wait till Christmas for that!

  It's rather demanding & i would say it's the hardest part of mark and i's marriage!  

I had my first offical doctors appointment yesterday.  This was such a relief and blessing.

  Our insurance finally kicked in so we picked a hospital and doctor and kind of went in blindy...and praise God, we love the doctor and the hospital is just BEAUTIFUL! it's also like 3 miles from our apartment..so if family comes up they can crash there while we are in the hospital.  I got my blood drawn (and didn't pass out!!! A first!!) and the doctor says everything looks great with the baby! :)
