One of the craziest years of my life.

2011.  There is so much to say about you.

2011 has been one of the most insane years of my entire life.   We've endured a indescribably hard year of raising Owen.  In fact this may have been one of the biggest challenges of all this year.  Lots of tears shed over just not knowing what to do. We've learned why people say "terrible twos."  We've learned why parenting is the hardest thing we will ever do.  I've learned why i will NEVER refer to a lady that stays with her kids "just a stay at home mom" again. We've learned to rely on God more, and we've learned the importance of family and friends so close that they are family, and we value that more then almost anything.  We went through a bazillion churches trying to find "home."  We learned the true meaning of commitment and why it's so important and how we'll never take it for granted.  Anyways- heres a glimpse into our year, and why i'm calling it one of the craziest years yet.

1/2011:
-we announce that we are expecting our 2nd baby.  And i'm in full swing of the 1st trimester lovely pukey feelings.

2/2011:
-Pregnancy is driving me insane.  We go on a 40 hour vaca to Chicago.  This month is pretty standard.  (thank the Lord.)

3/2011:
- Our son turns 2, we throw a big birthday party for Owen and we find out we are having a baby GIRL.

-One of my closest friends has a baby!

4/2011:
-Mark turns 25.  We spent a stressful few days driving back and forth from Chicago for X-Factor auditions!!  Mark made it through the first round :)

5/2011:
-We traveled to Nashville for 5 days for close friends wedding! Mark played music in their wedding.

6/2011:
-We spent a weekend in Indy for a wedding we were BOTH in.

-Mark spent a lot of time practicing for The Honour Recital's reunion show.

-My sister has her baby.  I was her "coach"  and spent several sleepless days in the hospital.  Although this event (leading up to it) was one of the most stressful things i've gone through, this birth was one of the most amazing things i've ever been able to experience!

7/2011:
-The Reunion Show!  Hard work, but turned out GREAT!

-Had the most painful back pain i've ever had (thanks to pregnancy) and spent a good two weeks on my butt, while others took care of Owen.

-We are told Cora is thought to be smaller then she should be.  This makes us a little crazy.  (thank the Lord she was perfect.)

8/2011:

-My due date came and went and we were induced and had a PERFECT baby girl, Cora Rose.  And life forever changed (again)

-We found out on the DAY of induction that Mark's place of employment would be SHUTTING down in a few months (December 31st) .  Needless to say, we felt MORE then stressed.  I'm laying in a hospital about to give birth, and we get that news!

9/2011:

-SURPRISE!  Mark's place of work is actually shutting down in 2 weeks! (september 30th)  FREAK OUT!

-Mark has interview after interview after interview and ends up accepting a position at Verizon Wireless.

10/2011

-Kim and Tim make us a proud Aunt and Uncle (again) by having a sweet little angel, Kiersten Bethany Burkey.

-We spend 4 weeks driving back and forth from Schaumburg, IL for training for Mark's new job.  The 4 of us live in a hotel.  now THAT was an interesting time of life!

-We come home for a weekend during our Schaumburg stay, to find a note on our back door that our rental house is being put up for sale.  SURPRISE (again)  and start looking for a new house....

11/2011

-we find a new house, sign on it, and get ready to move.

12/2011

-We move 10 days before Christmas..and are Still not moved in.  LOVE our new house.

These are just the BIG events of 2011.  Add these to all the day to day stressers and things happening, and we've had ourselves a year of HUGE HUGE HUGE change and stress.
I'm thankful we at least don't have boring lives...even though i must admit i kind of crave a "boring year" :)

We are so so so blessed and have grown immensely this year, and are closer then a family then we've ever been.  We're setting goals for 2012, and are excited to embark on them!

happy new years everyone!
love to all.
